GEORGE MICHAEL APOLOGISES AFTER ARREST

Advertorial

Openly gay pop singer George Michael has apologised to fans following another drug arrest on Friday.

The 45 year old star was arrested at public toilets near Hampstead Heath, London, for the possession of drugs, thought to be crack cocaine.

Police were called by a toilet attendant who had become concerned by Michael’s behaviour.

He was however released after only being issued with a caution for the possession of Class A and C drugs.

Michael later issued a statement saying:

“I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.”

A police statement did not clarify why he was let go, saying only that “circumstances and context” had to be considered. It added that, “no further action will be taken.”

Michael was last year found slumped over the wheel of his car in London after taking cannabis and GHB. He pleaded guilty to being unfit to drive.

In 1998 he was arrested for public indecency in a Beverly Hills public toilet.
