CHUCK NORRIS FEARS GAY ANARCHY
Chuck Norris has slammed the tactics of activists protesting against the banning of same-sex marriage in California, describing their actions as ‘gay anarchy’.
The actor made the comments in an op-ed article titled If Democracy Doesn’t Work, Try Anarchy, about the recent passing of Proposition 8; the measure which has banned same-sex marriage in California.
In the piece, Norris condemns various actions allegedly taken by activists against the measure.
These include claims that an elderly woman carrying a cross was shoved by protestors during a demonstration, that white powder was sent to the Mormon Church’s headquarters, and that activists stormed churches, displayed offensive signs and created blacklists of people who financially contributed to the campaign in favour of Proposition 8.
He comments that these actions reflect “the obvious inability of the minority to accept the will of the majority.”
He goes on to add that, “There is a difference between respectfully advocating one’s civil rights and demanding public endorsement of what many still consider to be unnatural sexual behaviour through cruel coercion and repression tactics.”
According to Norris, “The truth is that the great majority of Prop. 8 advocates are not bigots or hatemongers. They are American citizens who are following 5,000 years of human history and the belief of every major people and religion: Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman.”
Norris is known for his tough-guy action film and television roles such as Cordell “Cord” Walker on Walker, Texas Ranger. He has of late become increasingly vocal about his conservative political views and is rumoured to be considering running for president in 2012.
…… Chuck Norris? For president? Who’s going to be his running mate? Steven Segal? Jean-Claude Van Damme? Why not Mickey Mouse?
What a miserable little mite! He’s just another failed, out of work, ageing actor who’s trying to be in the spotlight once again!
And I’m sure the minority would accept the will of the majority if the majority weren’t so hellbent on persecuting, spreading fear and hatred on those who want equality!
If marriage were so sacred (between a man and a woman) then why do nearly half of marriages end in divorce? Why do men and women have affairs? Why is their abuse in marriage? Arranged marriages aren’t exactly sacred (or loving) either.
Get off your moral high horse, Chuck. Just because you cannot fight anymore television “baddies” doesn’t mean gay people are the new “enemy.”
Go home…. Leave the politics to the politicians, Chuck, and stick to what you do best; making sh*t movies and t.v. shows.
Judging from that photo he shouldn’t be worried about gay anarchy .. he should be worried about that ‘my-face-is-really-leather’ look he’s got going. Oh sorry, I forgot. Chuck is a man’s man *wink, wink*
