NO WILL & GRACE SPIN-OFF

Will & Grace star, Eric McCormack, has refuted claims that there will be a spin-off of the much-loved television series.

There have been recurring rumours about a spin-off featuring the popular characters of Karen and Jack (performed by Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes) ever since the show ended in 2006.

McCormack, who played gay lawyer Will Truman, told the US edition of OK! magazine that this was unlikely to happen.

“To my knowledge, there’s no talk of that,” he said. “It’s all just a fun rumour.”

Will & Grace, which ran for eight years, is recognised as a cultural phenomenon; it was the first US network television series with one or more gay principal characters.

The show has been credited with softening mainstream public opinion in the US towards gays and lesbians. It went on to win 16 Emmy Awards, out of 83 nominations.
