Carrie Prejean on Fox News

Former Miss California, Carrie Prejean, who has spoken out against same-sex marriage, is eating humble pie following news of a sex tape.

Prejean caused a furore with her comments against same-sex marriage during the Miss USA pageant earlier this year. She was later fired for “contract violations” including missing scheduled pageant events.

Prejean, who portrayed herself as a morally upstanding Christian, continued to voice her anti-gay sentiments despite reports that she had posed for topless pictures. She also sued the organisers of Miss California USA.

Now she may well lose her remaining conservative credentials after it was revealed that she filmed an explicit sex tape. Gossip website TMZ was the first to report on the video which features the pageant queen masturbating.

According to TMZ, a shocked Prejean and her mother were shown the tape by Miss California USA officials during negotiations to settle the lawsuit. It’s been reported that Prejean then agreed to drop the lawsuit.

Speaking on Fox News, Prejean admitted that the tape existed and called it “the biggest mistake of my life”.

She went on to say that: “It was bad judgment. It was embarrassing. It’s humiliating to be talking about this now on national TV if you can imagine. I’m taking total responsibility for it…”
