LESBIAN HYSTERIA SHUTS DOWN HOSTEL
A girl’s high school hostel in Kwazulu Natal has reportedly been shut down following claims of lesbian relationships between the boarders, reports The Murcery.
The newspaper did not name the school, which it said was on the South Coast, but explained that the furore began when two girls were caught kissing. They then apparently identified a number of lesbian couples and almost 30 lesbian individuals at the hostel.
In response, the school’s governing body reportedly shut down the facility.
“The school didn’t tell us anything, they just told us to fetch our children. We do not know why they have been removed. The circumstances around their removal are absurd, because some were apparently seen hugging,” a parent told The Mercury.
“Twenty-seven learners were involved in this kind of relationship and the school took a decision to close down the hostel,” provincial education department spokesperson Mfundi Sibiya told the SABC.
Gender and gay rights activists described the story as shocking and Sibiya pointed that suspending or expelling a pupil based on his or her sexual orientation would be illegal.
Officials from the department have visited the school and are said to be investigating the matter.
Why is anyone surprised? The education department has always had a cranial-rectal inversion. You can’t expel a child who endangers the lives of others. But you can apparently close down a hostel because two girls kissed each other! Oh noes!! *Rolls eyes*
Is it contagious?. Does this school board think that being lesbian is something that can be passed on to straight girls? And why close the school down? Will the company I work at also have to close down if they realise I’m dating a co-worker (granted, we do do more than kiss)? I know these are just kids, but these measures are so disproportionate that they cleary expose the homo-phobia of the board. I think it’s not those girls that need an education in these matters, but rather the School Board.
