BBC PRESENTER FOUND DEAD
Popular openly-gay BBC presenter Kristian Digby has been found dead in his East London flat under “unexplained” circumstances on Monday.
Digby (32) is best known as the presenter of mainly property-related BBC shows such as Open House, Buy It, Sell It, Bank It and To Build or Not to Build.
“Ambulance services attended and life was pronounced extinct. Next of kin were informed and we await formal identification,” said police in a statement.
Despite difficulties with dyslexia as a child, Digby studied film and photography at the University of Westminster and also directed a number of award winning short films as well as television programmes.
Digby, who was born in Torquay, England, also presented That Gay Show for the BBC and in September 2006 appeared partly-nude in a magazine photo shoot for charity.
In a statement, the BBC said: “Kristian was a much-loved and talented presenter for BBC Daytime. He brought a real sense of energy and warmth to all the shows he presented for us and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”
Police said that they would be conducting a post-mortem and are investigating the circumstance of the death.
