Police have confirmed that semen was found on Eugene Terre’Blanche’s body, adding further weight to theories that sex was involved in his death.
“His body was found half naked with semen on his private part. That is not new information. It has always been part of the evidence,” said Nonkululeko Mbatha spokesperson for Bheki Cele, the National police commissioner.
The news comes as Puna Moroko – the lawyer for Chris Mahlangu, one of the men accused of killing the right wing leader – retracted his client’s earlier claim that he was raped by Terre’Blanche.
“He mentioned ‘sodomy’ to me (but) the consultation was very short… It didn’t satisfy me, it just did not make sense to me, that’s why I abandoned it,” Moroko told journalists.
Speaking on 702 on Monday, Cele himself warned that the semen was not necessarily evidence that sodomy had been involved in Terre’Blanche’s death.
Mahlangu (28) and an un-named 15-year-old boy have been arrested for bludgeoning and hacking Terre’Blanche to death on his farm in Ventersdorp on April 3.
