America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly shouted down anti-gay protesters at the Los Angeles Pride Parade on Sunday, reports RadarOnline.

The celebrity pair, who were Grand Marshalls at the 40th annual event atop a colourful float, found themselves approached by a group of homophobic protesters who shouted out anti-gay insults.

“You should be ashamed of yourselves,” Sharon was heard yelling to the group on a microphone, after which Kelly began to chant: “My God loves gays.”

Other participants in the parade joined in on the “God loves gays” chant and they soon drowned out the protesters.

Sharon and Kelly have been long-time supporters of the LGBT community and actively lobbied for the legalisation of same-sex marriage in California.

Earlier this month, in an interview with The Daily Gay, Kelly admonished pop stars who make money from the gay community but don’t openly show their support for it.

“There are women, like Lady Gaga, who fully embrace it and who stand up. They go to the rallies, they protest. But then there are women who—I’m not going to name names—that use the gay community to sell albums, but then they don’t back it up. And I don’t like that,” she said.
