Robbie Williams has confirmed that he is back with his former band Take That, amid talk that he will appear in a Brokeback Mountain style music video.
“The rumours are true… Take That: the original line-up, have written and recorded a new album for release later this year,” said the band in a statement issued this week.
“I get embarrassingly excited when the five of us are in a room. It feels like coming home,” commented Williams, who left the band 15 years ago to pursue a solo career.
There have been unconfirmed rumours that the first single Shame will feature a music video starring Williams and band mate Gary Barlow as a Brokeback Mountain style couple. It’s also been suggested that the video could be a spoof of the Oscar-winning 2005 movie.
It is understood that the album will be released in November and that Williams will also join the band in a stadium tour next year.
Take That and Williams have collectively sold more than 80 million albums around the world.
