A trans woman who was allegedly pushed to her death under a London tube train during rush hour has been identified.

Sixty three year old Sonia Burgess, also known as David, died after being hit by a train in full view of horrified passengers on a jam-packed platform in King’s Cross station on Wednesday evening.

It’s unclear as to the exact circumstances of the incident but witnesses said that she was pushed onto the tracks by another woman.

They said that it appeared as if the two women knew one another and were joking around by pushing and pulling each other on the platform.

Police announced that a 34-year-old woman, Nina Kanagasingham, had been arrested and charged with murder.

They said that they were reviewing CCTV footage and that the incident was not being treated as a hate crime.

Burgess was a solicitor and is survived by two daughters and a son.
