HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS COMES OUT

Actress Amber Heard has spoken openly about being lesbian in Hollywood, surprising many who weren’t even aware that she is gay.

Heard – known for her roles in The Stepfather, The Joneses and Pineapple Express – was interviewed by Afterellen.com when she attended Saturday’s Celebration of 25 years of GLAAD in Los Angeles with her partner Tasya van Ree.

“I think that the injustice of people staying in the closet is more than I can bear with a clear conscience and I couldn’t sleep at night if I was a part of that problem, if I was part of the lies,” Heard said about choosing to come out.

“I personally think that if you deny something or if you hide something you’re inadvertently admitting it’s wrong. I don’t feel like I’m wrong. I don’t feel like millions of people are wrong because they love who they love or they were born how they were born,” said the 24 year old.

When congratulated for attending the event with van Ree, Heard commented: “She’s so beautiful. I mean, you’d have to be crazy not to want to go out with her!”

The actress is set to appear in a number of upcoming high profile films together with co-stars such as Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp.
