“The German Master”
A rent boy, known as “The German Master”, who claims to have had sex sessions with murder accused Shrien Dewani has reportedly been questioned in London by South African police.
In December, the 39-year-old German-born man came forward and told the Metropolitan Police’s special crime directorate that he was hired by Dewani for sexual trysts in the UK.
Dewani, 30, is facing extradition to South Africa to answer charges that he allegedly paid men to carjack the couple and then kill his newlywed bride Anni, 28, in Cape Town last year.
According to Britain’s The Sun, South African detective, Lieutenant Colonel Mike Barkhuizen, and Scotland Yard officers visited the un-named rent boy’s home to question him further on his claims.
The man has reportedly signed a statement and has been told that he may have to testify in a possible trial in South Africa.
Police have still not offered any motive for the murder, but there has been speculation that Dewani’s marriage was troubled – alleged because his sexuality.
Dewani’s publicist, Max Clifford, has denied the suggestions. “It is categorically denied. Shrien Dewani has never had a sexual relationship with a man in his life.”
