AIRLINE’S CAMP SAFETY VIDEO A HIT

Air New Zealand’s new camp in-flight safety video, featuring American fitness guru Richard Simmons, has become an online hit.

The airline last year made waves with a previous in-flight video which featured All Black rugby hunk Richard Kahui light-heartedly refusing to give a gay male flight attendant a peck on the cheek.

The new video takes a different tone with a high-energy tribute to the eighties fitness craze. It’s hosted by the camp Simmons who is best known for his aerobics videos and DVDs.

“In a matter of hours the new safety video had become a global hit on YouTube,” Air New Zealand’s marketing manager Mike Tod told Sapa-AFP.

Simmons (62), who today focuses on lobbying for physical education to be included in public schools, has never publicly asserted his sexual orientation but has been the subject of much speculation about being gay.
