Troubled rock singer and actress Courtney Love has described pop star Lady Gaga as a “sexless Barbie doll” who is surrounded by “gay stylists and advisers”.
In an interview with The Fix, the 46 year old – who is the widow of the late Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain – said that she was concerned about Gaga’s future.
“She’s very young, and she’s very talented, but she doesn’t seem to have any female friends. Or any straight guy friends for that matter,” Love said.
“Instead, she surrounds herself with this coterie of gay stylists and advisers who’ve turned her into this weird, sexless Barbie doll.”
She added: “I was raised by gay guys myself, and I turned out all right in the end. But you know, you can only pull off this meat-dress act for so long. If she doesn’t watch out, she’ll turn into a lonely drag queen. Straight guys just aren’t into that kind of thing.”
The comments came in the same week that Gaga released her Born This Way album which has already topped iTunes charts around the world.
Meanwhile, Love is being sued by her former law firm for making libellous remarks on Twitter suggesting that her lawyer had accepted a bribe.
