The Twilight Saga dominated the MTV Movie Awards last night, with its male leads, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, sharing a smooch.
While accepting their award for Best Kiss for the third year, Pattinson and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart bantered about teasing the show’s audience in previous years by always refusing to kiss on stage.
“I feel bad because I don’t feel like kissing you,” Pattinson said to Stewart. “Well, it’s been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it,” she replied as the crowd cheered.
“I just think there’s someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more,” Pattinson said as the camera cut to Lautner in the audience.
“Go get him,” Stewart urged.
Pattinson then ran off stage and into the audience. He grabbed Lautner for a long kiss on the mouth. Lautner put his arms around around Pattinson, to the audience’s loud approval.
Pattinson then kissed Lautner again on the forehead and on his hand before returning the stage.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse also won Best Film, Best Female Performance for Stewart, Best Male Performance for Pattinson and Best Fight.
