WILL & GRACE’S SEAN HAYES TO RETURN TO TV
Sean Hayes, best-known for his role as Jack McFarland in the still popular Will & Grace, is set to return to television in a new show about two gay men raising a 12-year-old child.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Hayes is still developing the show with Rescue Me co-creator Peter Tolan, who has also worked on sitcoms like The Larry Sanders Show and Murphy Brown.
“Yes. I’m very excited to report that I’m working with @nbc to develop a sitcom that I will star in next year. More to come! Stay tuned!” Hayes tweeted on Monday.
Entertainment Weekly said that NBC head Robert Greenblatt, the first out gay man to head an American broadcast network, confirmed the project at the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour.
Hayes (41) came out as gay in March last year, telling The Advocate magazine that he had never tried to hide the truth about his sexuality.
“You are your authentic self to whom and when you choose to be. And if you don’t know somebody, then why would you explain to them how you live your life?” he said.
Hayes won an Emmy Award, four SAG Awards and one American Comedy Award, and received six Golden Globe nominations, for his work on Will & Grace.
