CHER TO SUPPORT CHAZ ON ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’

Lacey Schwimmer and Chaz Bono

Gay icon Cher has confirmed that she will be in the Dancing with the Stars audience next week to support her son Chaz Bono.

Cher had previously tweeted that she would come see Bono perform in person on the US version of the show if he made it through to the next week.

In this week’s episode, Bono and his partner Lacey Schwimmer managed to stay in the competition for another week after performing a Rumba.

“Yeah CHAZ Looks like I’ll b in the Audience next Week,” Cher tweeted on Tuesday after the results were announced.

After initially wowing the judges with his debut, Bono’s subsequent performances have been less successful. In the previous week, Bono and Schwimmer received the lowest score of all the couples but were saved by audience votes.

Bono is the first-ever transgender contestant to take part in Dancing with the Stars.
