CHRIS BROWN: ‘LOVE WHO YOU WANNA LOVE’

Controversial singer and rapper Chris Brown has responded to claims that he is homophobic by tweeting that people should love who they want to love.

It was claimed late last week that when asked by a reporter in Cannes about fellow performer Frank Ocean, who recently came out as gay, Brown responded: “Man, no homo!”

The two men have had run-ins in the past. The alleged comment, however, does nothing to help Brown’s image, which was shattered when he beat pop star and then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, or his homophobic reputation.

On Monday, Brown responded to the furore over his alleged Frank Ocean comment. He tweeted: “My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is ……… Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS…

“Everyone is so quick to point the wrong fingers at each other! Ask urself… Am I Doing everything I can to help the world ????…The world is so bent on social acceptance that we’ve forgotten what makes us special… Our individuality! #Imdone #readabookbitch,” wrote Brown.

In June and July last year, Brown was slammed for using the words “gay” and “faggot” to insult people, first when getting a parking ticket and then while watching a basketball game.

At the time he said that he did not intend to offend gay people and that he had “total respect for [the] Gay community”.
