MADONNA ‘DOESN’T CARE’ WHAT ELTON SAYS

Following a scathing attack on Madonna by Elton John, a source close to the Material Girl says that she doesn’t care what he has to say about her.

In an interview with Australia’s Channel 7 program Sunday Night, Elton ripped into Madonna: “Why is she such a nightmare? Her career is over, I can tell you that. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c**t.”

He went on: “If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly. But no, she had to prove that she was like…”

Elton added that “she looks like a fucking fairground stripper” and accused her of being “so horrible to [Lady] Gaga,” who is godmother to Elton’s son Zachary.

Elton’s comments seem ill-informed, with Madonna’s latest MDNA album reportedly being the fifth best-selling album of the year and, according to Billboard, her current world tour is consistently selling out stadiums around the world.

The Huffintgon Post quotes one source close to Madonna as saying: “Ultimately, she doesn’t care what he has to say about her in public or private. She has nothing to prove to anyone, especially Elton John.”

A friend commented: “She is selling out arenas, singing new material and a few classic hits. He will be singing the same old songs until he dies.”

An entertainment reporter from 3AW, Peter Ford, claims that he was told by Elton John’s publicity team that the British singer was under the impression that the diatribe against Madonna was “off the record” and would not be aired.

In January, Elton and his husband David Furnish also lashed out at Madonna after she beat out Elton for the Best Original Song at the Golden Globe awards.

Madonna, who is in Russia this week, opened a branch of her Hard Candy gym chain in Moscow and also called for the release of the band Pussy Riot who are on trial for hooliganism after they insulted president Vladimir Putin. “I’m against censorship, so I hope that the judge is lenient with them and that they are freed soon,” she said.

Madonna is reputed to be worth $650 million and is expected to earn an additional $250 million from her MDNA tour this year. Elton is reportedly worth $355 million.
