On the 17th and 18th of January 2026, Sheer City is launching its inaugural two-day inner-city festival spanning six venues along Cape Town’s City Bowl and District Six. With over 40 musical acts over one weekend, this is a block party you don’t want to miss.
Sheer City is bringing together Cape Town’s most influential underground nightlife crews with international icons like Horse Meat Disco, Tama Sumo & Lakuti, Make A Dance, Freudenthal as well as over 20 local musicians and a network of dancers and installation artists. The lineup has been curated to honour Sheer City’s founding intention: a return to rave culture in its purest form.
It’s a multi-venue, walkable block party celebrating Cape Town’s creative pulse, queer culture, music, fashion, performance, and community.
The festival aims to bring together local and international acts, high-design production and flawless audio, visionary local curators, DJs, performance artists and fashion-driven subcultures, creating an environment that encourages exploration of the people, rooms and energies that define Cape Town’s creative identity.
