BUSH LUXURY: DJUMA GAME RESERVE

Advertorial

Interested in a luxurious bush break? Then look no further than Djuma Game Reserve in the north-east corner of the Sabi Sand Wildtuin – offering guests three luxury lodges, each with its own unique style.

Common to all three however, is the realisation that they are the perfect retreat from the big city in the unspoilt African vastness that is Sabi Sand Wildtuin.

Here you will experience the softer, gentler side of Africa, with luxuriously appointed lodges, a superb selection of wines and cuisine and all the creature comforts you could wish for. The service is personal and attentive, yet always unobtrusive.

Part of the true uniqueness of Djuma is the feeling of harmony and space. With just five 4×4 vehicles roaming this 16 000 acre private reserve (more than 3000 acres per vehicle), and experienced, qualified guides, it’s really not surprising that the “Big Five” are regularly sighted.

Guests have three lodge options, each with its own character and emphasis:

Bush Lodge comprises just eight thatched chalets tucked away in indigenous gardens. The main building is open-thatched with two viewing decks, overlooking the pool next to the watering hole.

Bush Lodge has operated for more than twelve years and is famous for its easy, friendly atmosphere. Indeed it is here that the Djuma tradition of hospitality and service excellence within exquisite surroundings began.

Vuyatela is a celebration of modern South Africa in all its intricate glory with an extensive collection of contemporary African artwork. This is a unique African experience, from the Coke bottle chandeliers to the extraordinary attention to detail in mosaics and other art.

You can sip cocktails from your private pool while watching wild animals meander in front of you. There is also a library, gym and a wellness centre (offering everything from massages to pedicures).

Galago offers groups an entire camp with total exclusivity with self-catering accommodation for up to 10 people. Galago is serviced and you can also employ a chef to cook for you. A field guide, tracker and an open Landcruiser, are your private guides through the bush.

Djuma Game Reserve will leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and filled with the mystical strength and spirit of Africa.
