Ricky Martin recently came out as gay.
There’s a flurry of speculation after a top Hollywood publicist announced at the recent GLAAD Media Awards that one of his clients will be coming out on May 5.
According to Zap2It, Howard Bragman has already booked an exclusive interview with People magazine as well as appearances on a number of television talk shows that week.
Bragman has previously managed the coming out of a number of other celebrities in the past including basketball star John Amaechi, Party of Five’s Mitchell Anderson, Married with Children’s Amanda Bearse as well as Chaz Bono’s gender transitioning announcement.
“In Hollywood, most publicists keep their clients in the closet. I’m the guy people come to when they want to come out,” Howard said.
He has refused to say who the client is, but names such as Queen Latifah, Ryan Seacrest, and Michelle Rodriguez have been mentioned on sites across the Internet.
Bragman was one of the founders of the entertainment PR firm Bragman, Nyman, Cafarelli, and now operates under his new company Fifteen Minutes.
Over the last two years, an increasing number of celebrities have come out in the US, most recently Latino music superstar Ricky Martin.
