CLIFTON ONE OF TOP TEN GAY BEACHES IN WORLD
Clifton 3rd beach in Cape Town has been chosen as one of the top gay beaches in the world by a leading gay travel blog.
In its listing of the “Top Ten Gay Beaches in the World,” GayCities placed Clifton 3rd in the number eight spot as a place to “soak up the sun” and get “some glimpses of shirtless hotties”.
“Clifton 3rd is completely protected from the sea breezes that sweeps most of Cape Town. It faces west so the sunsets are stunning,” says the site, which describes the beach as a “gay paradise”.
The top beach was Pines Beach on Fire Island, the popular gay holiday destination in the state of New York.
Other beaches included in the top ten are: Mexico’s Playa Los Muertos in Puerto Vallarta; Sebastian Street Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Farme de Amoedo in Rio de Janeiro; Hilton Beach in Tel Aviv; Poodle Beach in Rehoboth, Delaware; Playita in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica; North Bondi Beach in Sydney and Playa Delfines in Cancun.
Clifton 3rd is one of four Blue Flag status Clifton beaches separated by boulders along an exclusive residential strip and are considered Cape Town’s most glamorous spots on which to bask in the sun.

Pity you can’t swim there… but the boys are pretty and the setting is GAWjus. The only thing missing is a steady supply of strawberry daquiris
