PAYPAL RESPONDS TO HATE GROUPS CONTROVERSY

Online payment service PayPal has refused to bar anti-gay groups from using its services saying that it has to consider freedom of speech.

PayPal has been embroiled in controversy after LGBT rights group AllOut pointed out that its services are used by at least 11, mainly American, anti-gay groups.

These include Abiding Truth Ministries, which has been linked to Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill, and Noua Dreaptã, which uses PayPal to fundraise for homophobic marches in Romania.
