IDOLS FINALISTS TO PERFORM AT JOBURG PRIDE

As organisers prepare for Joburg Pride, they’ve announced that the two remaining Idols South Africa finalists will perform at the event this Saturday 1st October.

Pride revellers can expect performances from a paired combination of either super-pipes Crushanda (who delivered a show-stopping rendition of the Weather Girls’ gay anthem It’s Raining Men on Sunday) or über-intense Dave or belt-it-out Mark, depending on who is voted-off the show this week.

Their Joburg Pride performance will be their last public performance prior to the final Idols show-down on Sunday evening, 2 October.

The two finalists add to the line-up of local and international acts including the world’s number-one female DJ, UK-based Lisa Lashes, on the decks.

There will also performances from platinum selling Joburg-based songbird Lira; rock act Kinky Robot; openly-gay heart-throb singer George Meiring; as well as DJs and drag acts.

Organisers of Joburg Pride, now in its 22nd year, said that they expect more than 20,000 participants to take part in Africa’s largest celebration of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender life.
