ALAN CUMMING MARRIES PARTNER

Scottish actor Alan Cumming has announced that he’s married his civil union partner in New York while taking a dig at presidential hopeful Rick Santorum.

Cumming, who has of late starred in the popular television series The Good Wife, has been in a British civil partnership with graphic artist Grant Shaffer since January 7 2007.

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of the partnership over the weekend the two tied the knot in New York, where they live, at the Soho Grand Hotel.

“I just got married!!!!! On the 5th anniversary of our wedding in London Grant and I tied the knot again in NYC!!!” the actor tweeted.

He added for good measure: “#eatmericksantorum”.

Santorum, who hopes to be selected as the Republican candidate for the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, is a vocal opponent of same-sex marriage.

Cumming (46) has appeared in films such GoldenEye, X2: X-Men United, Emma and Spy Kids. He is also a Tony Award-winning theatre actor, having performed in London’s West End and on Broadway.
