Organisers of Mr Gay World 2012 (MGW2012) have announced that two new events that will be open to the public have been added to the event’s calendar.

The first is a Sports Challenge on Easter Friday, April 6, from 10 am at The Fairway Hotel in Rand Park, which will be a ‘Gay Survivor’-type challenge ending in the swimming pool, which will be open to be public to view.

Tickets include a full buffet, with only 100 available. To book, write to coenie@mrgsa.co.za with ‘Sport’ in the header.

The second event is a semi-formal Charity Auction and Dinner, at which items representing each delegate’s country will be auctioned off to the public in aid of a children’s charity. Other bargains such as break-away holidays and more will also be auctioned.

Tickets include a full three course meal with a choice of two mains. Here also, only 100 places are open to the public. To book for this event, write to coenie@mrgsa.co.za with ‘Dinner’ in the header.

Last week, the producers of Mr Gay World 2012 Coenie Kukkuk and John-Louis O’Neil, visited Askari Game Lodge in Magaliesberg, venue of the first night stay of the delegates and directors of MGW2012, to iron out the last details.

MMGW 2012 will be hosted in Johannesburg from April 4 to 8. The Grand Finale will take place on 8 April at 8 p.m. at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City.

There is an ‘early bird’ special of a R50 discount on regular and VIP tickets as well as a R50 discount on block bookings for 10 or more, both on pre-sale, until 31 January. Tickets can be bought via Computicket or at any Checkers store.
