Brad Pitt is reported to be pushing ahead to take on a gay role in reaction to his mother’s recent letter condemning same-sex marriage.
According to the National Enquirer, the Hollywood A-lister wants to not only affirm his support for the LGBT community and boost his career through the role, but also take a stand against his mother Jane Pitt’s very public anti-gay position.
It said that the letter had “fast-tracked” a role which Pitt already had in mind and that he is determined to do “whatever it takes to make this film happen”.
“It turns out Brad’s actually wanted to play a gay man for years, feeling it would add dimension to his work as an actor,” added the Enquirer.
The tabloid failed to mention any other details of the alleged film.
Last month, Jane Pitt wrote a letter to a local newspaper urging Christians to vote for Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and slamming President Obama as a “liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage”.
The letter is said to have embarrassed Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie.
