Absolutely Fabulous creator and star Jennifer Saunders has revealed that there may be more Ab Fab goodness to come.

In an interview for the December edition of Gay Times, Saunders spoke about her fears in producing more of the cult comedy show co-starring Joanna Lumley and beloved by gays around the world.

“So many people have said, ‘oh just do it, do it, do it, we’d love to see it’. And I just think, ‘yeah but then it’ll go horribly wrong and everyone will hate me’, then I think no, just bloody do it! And actually I’ve got a year, I’ve got some time. I might just bloody DO IT.”

When asked if she’d consider making another series or a film, she replied: “Well Joanna really wants a film. I don’t think she’s up for a TV series. I think she wants…” she adopts a Joanna Lumley voice. “‘Lovely film, South of France, darling. Lovely film in the South of France’,” she makes kissing noises and laughs.

“I’ve just got to think of a really, really good plot because that’s where films fall down, when they haven’t quite got the plot worked out and it’s just a series of sketches. Really good plot. Really good actors. And a fucking good lighting/camera man,” she said.

Absolutely Fabulous, affectionately known as Ab Fab, was originally broadcast between 1992 and 1996, returned between 2001 to 2004 for two more series and two specials, and was followed by a Comic Relief sketch in 2005 and three specials last year.

According to the British Film Institute, Absolutely Fabulous is ranked as the 17th greatest British TV Show of all time.
