One of the actors from the American comedy series 30 Rock has come out as gay.
Maulik Pancholy, who is best known for playing Jack Donaghy’s assistant on the show, revealed he is in a same-sex relationship in a new interview with OUT magazine.
“I just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner,” he said.
“It feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions.”
Pancholy’s interview was part of the magazine’s annual Out 100 list.
The 39-year-old actor will also be recognised for his recurring role as Sanjay on Weeds. He has never previously spoken about his sexuality.
30 Rock came to an end in the US in January but Pancholy currently voices the title character in the animated series Sanjay and Craig.
