Lady Gaga has released her long awaited new single, titled Perfect Illusion, from her upcoming fifth album.
Produced by Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga, Kevin Parker and BloodPop, the track is her first proper pop single in three years.
The singer recently broke up with former fiancé Taylor Kinney. And with lyrics like, “It wasn’t love/ It was a perfect illusion”, perhaps the song’s alluding to that failed ‘bad romance’?
While we like that she’s left the overblown pretensions of ARTPOP behind, Illusion risks behind a tad, well… boring.
So, we’re not blown over in our initial listening to the disco-rock track, but we do hope that it’ll still grow on us.
Listen to Perfect Illusion below and see what you think…

I don’t understand the point of this article. You want to ask what we (fans) think of the song when you bash it in your review.
Personally I love this song as do a lot of people but because it’s Lady Gaga, there must always be overflow of hate that gets thrown in.
Rihanna’s work is a shitty song but no-one complained about it. Amongst many other redundant songs this year all were positively reviewed though.
Love everything she does – Yaaaaaz!
