In Pictures: Durban Pride 2025

Durban recently celebrated Pride in full colour, as members of the LGBTIQ+ community and allies gathered for the city’s 14th annual Durban Pride march and festivities under the theme #sustainLGBTIrights.
On Saturday 28 June, participants filled the streets with rainbow flags, music, and powerful messages calling for justice, inclusion, and equality.
While the atmosphere was joyful, the event carried a serious message about ongoing challenges. Marchers highlighted the impact of international funding cuts on essential HIV and sexual health services, especially those supporting transgender people.
After the march, attendees returned to Gugu Dlamini Park for performances, speeches, and community engagement.
Pride organisers reminded the crowd that beyond celebration, the event is a form of advocacy. Read our full report here.
