For the first time, Soweto Pride took place over two days, with Saturday, 27 September dedicated to celebration and joy.
Despite grey skies and rainy weather, crowds gathered at the Soweto Equestrian Centre to socialise, connect, and revel in Soweto Pride’s 21st birthday.
The venue buzzed with music, dance, and the unmistakable energy of queer joy. Community groups, small business owners, and LGBTQ+-friendly entrepreneurs showcased their services and products at stalls, turning visibility into empowerment.
Performers and DJs kept the crowd entertained, creating an atmosphere of solidarity, joy, and care. Families, allies, and friends joined in, dancing and singing well into the afternoon. It was a celebration of survival, growth, unity, and the power of queer communities.
