MambaOnline recently sat down with Crosby Jodwana and Sean Nhlapo, crowned Cutest Couple of 2025 at the Feather Awards, to reflect on their headline-making relationship and their growing role as voices for a more inclusive South Africa.
From their traditional wedding trending across social media to being thrust into a national hate-speech controversy, the pair have become symbols of love, resilience, cultural pride and unapologetic queer joy.
Their wedding photos went viral in September, drawing widespread admiration — and backlash — after traditional healer and former radio host Ngizwe Mchunu released a video condemning the celebration and expressing “hate” towards LGBTQIA+ people.
Yet through it all, Crosby and Sean have remained steadfast, showing that queer love can thrive, even under scrutiny. In this interview with MambaOnline, they open up about how they met, how they’ve navigated the attention — good and bad — and what keeps their bond so strong.
