Pop star Ke$ha, who is also an ordained minister, has performed a commitment ceremony for a lesbian couple.
According to The Advocate, the 25-year-old American performer and songwriter (born Kesha Rose Sebert) officiated the ceremony between Monique Morrison and Gretchen Helt in Malibu, California, last week.
The women are said to be close friends of the star, who was legally ordained a minister through an online site.
In 2010, the Tik Tok and We R Who We R singer made an “It Gets Better Video” in support of bullied LGBT youth.
In the same year, she spoke to The Advocate about her gay fan base.
“I have never gotten any grief about having a good time, being unapologetic, and irreverent from a gay man. And let’s be honest, sometimes I wish I was a gay man,” she said.
Ke$ha also revealed that she was a big fan of the transgender community and told Out: “I wouldn’t say I’m gay or straight – I don’t like labelling things anyway. I just like people.”
