A German man will be the first transgender model to grace the cover of Men’s Health magazine.

Ben Melzer was chosen for the honour after he beat out a group of other aspiring buff male models to win a cover contest for the German edition of the men’s fitness publication.

The hunky 29-year-old stunner, who has a girlfriend (sorry guys), will feature in the April edition of the popular magazine.

“I started transitioning at the age of 23 and I always had a passion for fitness but because of the surgeries it was hard to achieve my goal.” Melzer told Towleroad.

“After about three years everything was finally done and I started to concentrate on my training and diet.”

He added: “I wanna show the world that we’re just normal guys. I wanna educate and give hope to others.”

Last year, American Aydian Dowling almost landed the world’s first trans Men’s Health cover in a similar competition.

The artist, activist, entrepreneur and fitness trainer ultimately came second in the contest.
