James Franco’s love affair with the gay community knows no bounds, as it’s been revealed that he’s once again involved in making a gay-themed film.

On Tuesday, Franco posted a steamy shirtless on-set photo with actor Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars) who is starring in the film King Cobra, centred on the gay adult film industry.

The movie, which Franco is producing, tells the true story of porn mogul and owner of Cobra Films Bryan Kocis who was murdered by escorts and rival would-be producers Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerkes in 2007.

The killers planned to make their own adult films by stealing popular young gay porn star Brent Corrigan away from Kocis’ company and ended up killing the producer in his home at the age of 44.

It’s not clear if Franco will play a role in the film which also features Garrett Clayton as Corrigan and even Christian Slater and Molly Ringwald in the cast.

In a post on Facebook, the Corrigan (real name Sean Lockhart) revealed that he’d been asked to consult on the film and play a small role but chose not to take “part in someone else’s presentation of events that I personally lived as a young adult.”

He added: “Even with the time that has passed, the memories are still very real and raw for me.”

Franco recently starred in another gay-themed film, I Am Michael; the true story of a high-profile gay rights activist who ended up becoming a “straight” anti-gay pastor.

Franco, who says he’s straight, has made a career of playing gay roles and using gay themes in his art and films. Some have accused him of “gay-baiting” the LGBT community.
