UGANDAN GROUP TO HOST SEMINAR AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY

Advertorial

A Ugandan group is holding a seminar to equip people to fight what it calls the “spiralling promotion of homosexuality in the country”.

According to Ugpulse.com, the Family Life Network announced that the training seminar will take place from March 5 to 7 and will provide Ugandans with “information and skills to fight” homosexuality.

It will explore “the causes and treatment of homosexuality; provide practical tips on how to prevent homosexuality behaviour in youth; expose the homosexual agenda, their tactics, strategy and methods of recruitment; and provide information and guidelines on how to respond to the homosexual agenda in an organization, community or nation”.

In a statement, Executive Director of Family Life Network, Stephen Langa, said that gay groups are actively recruiting school boys and girls at an alarming rate.

A number of “experts” from the US are expected to participate in the seminar including: Dr. Scott Lively, founder of Abiding Truth Ministries; Mr. Don Schmierer from International Healing Ministries; and Mr. Lee Brundidge who works with an ex-gay ministry.

The seminar is targeted at “parents, guardians, teachers, government officials, policy makers, members of parliament, religious leaders, counsellors and activists who need in-depth knowledge on the subject of homosexuality”.

Homosexuality is illegal in Uganda and carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission says that it has documented nearly a dozen arrests of LGBT people on charges related to homosexuality in Uganda over the last five years.

In December, a Ugandan judge surprised many in the country when she ruled against the state and in favour of two LGBT activists whose rights, the court said, had been violated by the police following a raid on their home.
