PORN COMPANY ABANDONS ‘BAREBACKING’
Eurocreme, one of Europe’s biggest gay adult entertainment producers, has decided to stop producing barebacking porn.
The company’s CEO and founder, Max Lincoln, told Pinknews.co.uk that despite its audience preferring to watch films that do not incorporate condoms, the company was no longer prepared tp put its performers at risk.
“There is a window period between an individual becoming infected with the HIV virus, and that individual showing up positive in an HIV test. During the window period, the infected individual can transmit the virus to others during unprotected sexual intercourse.
“For that reason it is not possible for a production company to guarantee the safety of an actor in a bareback film,” he told the site.
This comes on the heels of news that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation in the US has asked regulators to ban the production of bareback films in the state of California.
The California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board is being urged to legally require performers to wear condoms when making adult films.
The board has 60 days to rule on the request. While many adult film producers already enforce the use of condoms, some argue that any ruling forcing them to use protection in their productions will be an infringement on their First Amendment rights to free speech and expression.
