DID BBC PRESENTER DIE IN SEX GAME?
It has been reported that Kristian Digby may have died in an auto-erotic asphyxiation sex game gone wrong after a belt and a bag were discovered by police.
The 32 year old, openly gay, BBC presenter was found dead – apparently by an ex-boyfriend – in his East London flat.
The belt and plastic bag were removed from the apartment by the authorities for forensic tests. A post-mortem examination of Digby’s body has been inconclusive but it is believed that he was alone at the time of his death.
Auto-erotic asphyxiation – in which a person starves himself of oxygen at the moment of orgasm – is said to increase arousal and pleasure. It is, however, extremely dangerous as it can lead to accidental suffocation.
A number of celebrities – such as actor David Carradine and INXS singer Michael Hutchence – are believed to have died under similar circumstances.
Digby is best known as the presenter of property-related BBC shows such as Open House, Buy It, Sell It, Bank It and To Build or Not to Build, but also made a fortune in property development.
Reporter with a hangover or in need of a break?. What on earth is a post-modern examination of a body? And how can something lead to “accidentally” suffocation?
Someone, obviously, had a late night out and couldn’t think too clearly. I hear banana and coke are helpful, but I prefer a tomato cocktail and tabasco sauce.
….. Agreed. It just shows sloppy (editoral) work and detracts from the seriousness of the article.
But RIP Kristian. I’ve seen some of the shows he fronted and he seemed always full of passion for his job. Such a senseless tragedy to have happened to someone so young.
It’s a case of…. It’s a case of overworked staff, which is no excuse. We’ll strive to do better! By the way, anyone willing to contribute a couple of long weekends away to the editorial team?
