Inspired by superstar Ricky Martin’s coming out this week, ANC youth league president Julius Malema has revealed that he too is gay.
In an exclusive statement issued to Mambaonline this morning, Malema – a long-time Martin fan – said it was time to for the truth to come to light. “I am a gay African man – and I’m proud of it!” He confessed: “I too want to live ‘La Vida Loca,’ like my hero.”
The controversial figure called on “all closeted comrades to stand up proudly and shout out who they are.” Malema said that he intended to urge African leaders to open their hearts to gay and lesbian Africans who are facing an increasingly oppressive environment.
Malema further revealed that had been having an affair with a senior male member of the DA. He refused to name the person, but said that DA leader Helen Zille had long been aware of the relationship and had given it her blessing.
“I will be marching with my fellow gays and lesbians in next month’s Pink Loerie parade in Knysna,” Malema further announced. He also added that he was considering changing the words to the song “kill the boer” to “kill the homophobe” especially for the festival.
Malema said that he would be holding a press conference later today to reveal further details both about his secret affair and his new strategy to help gay and lesbian youth across the country.
As you probably figured out, this article is an April fool’s joke and doesn’t contain a smidgen of truth – other than the fact that Julius Malema, as ANC Youth Leader, really should be publicly and vocally supporting the rights of young LGBT people in South Africa. – Ed.

Hey be careful of what u write. When Julius malema sees this and accuses you of character assassination and maybe calls u a racist , u lots will start blabbing about him.he is a good honest and outspoken man . Even if he wants to be gay , good for him but do not make up fake stories about a future leader of this African nation.
