JOBURG PRIDE 2010 AGM

Advertorial

Joburg Pride will be hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM), at which the public is invited to give its input, on Saturday April 24 at Zoo Lake Sports Club from 11 am.

The Joburg Pride board said that it will present a report on last year’s event, highlighting both successes and challenges, as well as discussing the way forward for 2010.

The board will also announce its theme for this year’s Joburg Pride Festival and Parade, which will take place on the 2nd of October.

“This is an important opportunity for members of the LGBTI community in Joburg to meet and interact with the board, hear what we have planned and take part in a Q&A session,” said Joburg Pride Co Chair Zak Mbhele.

In October 2009, an estimated fifteen thousand gays and lesbians – and their friends and families – took part in the 20th Joburg Pride Parade and Pride Day event ; making this the largest and oldest LGBTI event on the continent.

Joburg Pride has been run by the not-for-profit section 21 Joburg Gay Pride Festival company since 2007.
