According to an anonymous poll on the sexual orientation of over 400 students, 22.8% of men said that they had had sex with a member of the same sex, compared to 15.2% of female students.

The survey was conducted by Cherwell, the independent student newspaper at the university. It also found that 31.2% of the male respondents had performed or received oral sex with another man.

Other results from the study found that 57.2% of the respondents said that they had had homosexual fantasies. One in ten students said that they identified as being gay while only 35.7% said that they were completely heterosexual.

When it comes to pornography, 49.5% of men admitted that they had watched gay porn, while 40.4% of women said that they had watched lesbian porn.

While most gay or bisexual students said that faced little or no hostility from their friends about their sexuality, almost half revealed that they had not come out to their family.
