Pop star Lady Gaga has described the new music video for her ABBA and Ace of Base inspired song Alejandro as a “celebration and admiration of gay love”.
“It confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. I’ve been unable to find that with a straight man in my life,” she told The Times.
“In the video I’m pining for the love of my gay friends but they just don’t want me,” she said.
Alejandro is the third single from the hit album The Fame Monster and the video, which is set to be released this week, was directed by famed fashion photographer Steven Klein.
Lady Gaga has been a vocal supporter of LGBT equality and has said that she considers herself to be bisexual.
