GAGA’S ALEJANDRO VIDEO CAUSES A STIR

Advertorial

The much-anticipated music video for pop superstar Lady Gaga’s new single Alejandro has debuted online.

The almost 9 minute-long homoerotic video, which was described by the bisexual star as a “celebration and admiration of gay love”, was directed by fashion photographer Steven Klein.

The clip has already caused a stir with its bondage-inspired images and a sequence in which the singer appears to swallow rosary beads.

“We combined dance, narrative and attributes of surrealism,” said Klein in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine. “The process was to express Lady Gaga’s desire to reveal her heart and bare her soul.”

“It confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together. I’ve been unable to find that with a straight man in my life,” Gaga told The Times about the video.

“In the video I’m pining for the love of my gay friends but they just don’t want me,” she said.

Alejandro is the third single from the hit album The Fame Monster.
