US singer-songwriter and pianist Vanessa Carlton announced that she is bisexual at a concert in Tennessee on Saturday.
“I’ve never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman,” she told a crowd of around 18,000 people while on stage performing at the 22nd Nashville Pride concert
The 29 year old songstress, who has been romantically linked to singer John Mayer and Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins, is best known for the smash-hit single A Thousand Miles from her 2002 debut album, Be Not Nobody.
Carlton was the headline artist at the event which celebrates “the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in Middle Tennessee”.
Her new album Rabbits On The Run is expected to be released soon.
