KYLIE’S GAY ONSLAUGHT

Advertorial

Pop star Kylie Minogue has acknowledged her gay fan base by appearing on the cover of a gay magazine and planning to perform at the upcoming Madrid Pride.

Minogue, currently promoting her new album Aphrodite, is set to perform at this weekend’s Pride celebrations in the Spanish capital, the largest Pride event in Europe.

“I am really very touched,” the singer told Shangay, adding: “For a long time now I have had a special relationship with the gay public and I am pleased that they are counting on me to celebrate such a special occasion.”

Minogue (42) has been dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso since 2008.

The gay icon is also featured on the cover of British gay magazine Attitude along with a bevy of gorgeous male models in a feature titled “Kylie: Back for the boys”.

Minogue reveals in an interview with the magazine that she regrets not fighting harder to include a set of personal songs written after her battle with cancer on her last album, 2007’s X.

“I’d written songs about my experience, my illness, and they didn’t make the album, I even don’t know why. If they just weren’t good enough songs, or the record company didn’t think they were appropriate, I don’t know.”

On Saturday Minogue made her debut at the Glastonbury Festival as a surprise guest with the Scissor Sisters. Dressed in a black leotard, thigh high disco boots and a cape, she joined the band’s Jake Shears and Ana Matronic to perform the Sisters’ disco stomper Any Which Way.
