GAY MAN PROPOSES ON NEWSPAPER FRONT PAGE

Advertorial

A gay man has proposed to his boyfriend on the front page of a daily newspaper read by millions of commuters in the UK.

The Metro free newspaper recently held a competition to allow readers to design its front cover, which was won by Jon Mark Ireland.

Ireland then used the opportunity to pop the question to his boyfriend through a front page design which reads: “To my darling Ben Daniel Collins – Will you marry me? Lots of Love, Jon Mark Ireland.

Collins was shocked to spot the newspaper’s front page under the arm of another commuter on the London tube and texted his boyfriend “I’m going to kill you.”

And, to Ireland’s relief, the proposal was accepted with “a resounding yes”, reported Metro.

“He said that he was a bit horrified to see his name but he was happy so it was a good job, I suppose,” said Ireland.

A date for their Civil Partnership has not yet been set.
