CHER SLAMS ANTI-GAY PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER’S HUSBAND

Gay icon Cher has tweeted her outrage at statements by Dr. Marcus Bachmann, the husband of Republican US presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, that gays are “barbarians” that must be “disciplined”.

The singer/actress commented on Twitter while watching an MSNBC television expose of Bachmann’s anti-gay statements and belief that homosexuality can be ‘cured’ through his Christian-based clinic.

“Is this true?” Cher tweeted. “He has a Christian clinic where he de-programs gay Boys & Girls!”

The outraged star exclaimed: “I’m gonna strangle him with my Boa!”

She continued: “What would Jesus do?? I believe he would love us ALL!”

Increasingly upset, Cher called Bachmann an “asshole”, adding, “How a Christian can call Any of Gods Children… I can’t talk! WHO ARE THESE FKN People?”

Last year, while speaking on a religious radio show, Bachmann, who is a therapist, said that gays are “barbarians” that “need to be educated.”

“They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That’s what is called the sinful nature. We have a responsibility as parents and as authority figures not to encourage such thoughts and feelings from moving into the action steps,” he said.

His wife Michele last month announced that she hopes to be chosen as the Republican candidate to run again President Obama in 2012. She shares her husband’s anti-gay views; describing being gay as being “from Satan” and a “dysfunction”.
