A lesbian couple who saved 40 teenagers in the recent massacre in Norway have been lauded for their bravery.
Hege Dalen and Toril Hansen, who are engaged, were camping near Utoya island where Anders Breivik began shooting young members of the Norwegian Labour Party on 22 July.
The women were having lunch when they heard noises from the island and saw teenagers running into lake Tyrifjorden in a panic.
“We were eating, then came sounds of shooting, and then the awful screaming,” Dalen told the ” target=”_blank”>Talk about Equality blog to ask in a headline: “If a Married Lesbian Couple Saves 40 Teens from the Norway Massacre and No One Writes About it, Did it Really Happen?”
Breivik killed 68 people on the island and another eight by exploding a bomb in the capital Oslo.
